Volunteer With Us
One of the best things about being a community-owned pub is that everyone has the opportunity to play a part in its success. The Lion at Ickleton is more than just a pub – it’s a shared project, a community hub, and a space we’re building together.
There are so many ways to get involved, whatever your skills, experience or availability. Whether it’s:
- Helping behind the bar
- Serving in the community café
- Keeping the garden looking beautiful
- Supporting with building maintenance or ongoing improvements
- Offering your skills in IT, communications, PR, or helping run events
- Joining or supporting the management committee
We also welcome expertise in areas like HR, charity governance, health and safety, risk assessment, or cellar management – the list goes on!
Volunteering is a brilliant way to meet people, learn something new, and be part of something special. If you’d like to offer your support or find out more, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch at: info@thelionatickleton.co.uk
We celebrate all our volunteers, amazing local business supporters and fabulous grant funders on our ‘Lion Heroes’ page.
Work Experience in Finance
We are offering an opportunity for someone keen to gain experience in a financial role to spend time working alongside our finance team – ideal for someone looking to build a career in finance, accountancy, or business administration and who needs to gain practical workplace experience.
Working with experienced, qualified finance professionals, you will have the chance to support and observe a range of finance activities, including: day-to-day financial processing using XERO accountancy package; invoice management and reconciliations; preparation of management accounts; budgeting and reporting processes.
This volunteer role is suitable for someone who is interested in a career in finance or accountancy, who is eager to learn and develop practical skills and comfortable working with numbers and detail. No prior experience is required, although basic numeracy and Excel skills would be helpful.
This is a valuable opportunity to gain real insight into how a finance function operates and build confidence for future roles or study. Please email treasurer@icplimited.org.uk if you would like more information.
